About Me
The sand, the sun, the sound of the waves crashing...there's nothing I love more than a long day at the beach! My family and I also enjoy playing all kinds of different games. Cornhole seems to be the most popular right now, but we also play card games like Spoons, Uno, and a game called Pit.
My family and I are also into our local sports teams - especially the Washington Capitals! Our favorite players are Nicklas Backstrom (#19) John Carlson (#74), Braden Holtby (#70), and Brooks Laich (#21). We love sitting down to watch the Caps play (truth be told, my oldest daughter and husband do a lot more yelling than sitting). As a family we try to take in a handful of practices at Kettler IcePlex and a few games each year at the Verizon Center. We also enjoy watching football. There hasn't been much to cheer about lately with the Redskins, but we're lifelong fans regardless. Our days in the fall (field hockey) and spring (lacrosse) are filled with shuttling kids to practices and games.
I came to the Rockville area before elementary school. I attended Lakewood ES, Frost MS, and Wootton HS. I graduated from High Point College (now High Point University) with a BA in Elementary Education, and in May, 2015 I received a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Hood College in Frederick, Maryland.
Previously, I taught Kindergarten for five years at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Bethesda, MD. I took 15 years off to raise my family: Katrina (21) a senior at Boston College's Connell School of Nursing and a MIDN 1/c (Navy ROTC); Hayden (17) and Sierra (15) are a senior and sophomore, respectively, at Richard Montgomery HS; Kelsey (13) is in 8th grade at Julius West MS; and (last, but certainly not least,) Tabitha (10) is in fifth grade in the French Immersion Program at Maryvale ES.
I previously taught at Flower Valley ES in Rockville, and am thrilled to begin my second year here at Garrett Park ES!
